Year: 2025

Medium & Technique:
Created using the Schlossing Technique with water-based poster paints, this piece is composed of multiple thick layers applied without traditional tools like water or brushes. Instead, I used nozzles, fingers, drips, splashes, and swirling motions of bold color. Each layer was sun-baked, giving the work a raw, organic texture. The final piece is sealed with automotive-grade clear acrylic lacquer, offering lifelong protection and vibrancy.

Inspiration & Meaning:
During a deeply challenging time in my life — undergoing cancer treatment — I turned inward. I found myself reflecting on the suffering of Christ and the ultimate meaning behind it: sacrifice, redemption, and resurrection. This painting emerged spontaneously, as if guided by the subconscious right hemisphere of my brain — the creative, spiritual side. My hands moved instinctively, almost in auto-pilot, responding to a vision I felt more than saw.

The piece depicts three crosses on Calvary Hill — one for Christ, and two for the thieves, all nailed and crucified. In the bottom right corner, you’ll find the empty tomb, its round stone door rolled away, symbolizing the miracle:

CHRIST HAS RISEN!
ASCENSION CÉLESTE.

The message is powerful and personal:
No matter how good or devout we are, we all must face our own kind of hell — if only for a short time.
Some remain lost forever. But through Christ, there is hope, there is resurrection.

Final Note:
Please note: the actual painting is darker and more intense than what the photograph may show.
