Nina Roca
Antonia Roca Casas (Nina Roca), was born in Mallorca (Spain), on March 19, 1973, in the days when the British band Pink Floyd released their superhit “The dark side of the moon” and Picasso died. She grew up in the rural area of the island in a traditional Mallorcan family, she is the eldest of three siblings. She studied medicine and specialized in family medicine, to which she has dedicated her working life to the present day. In the last eight years she has held a senior management position in the health system, a period that has been marked by the management of the COVID-19 health crisis.
She has always shown interest in the history of art and especially in impressionist painting, enjoying knowing and delving into everything related to the authors, the techniques used and their works. Her beginnings in painting are recent, at the end of 2023 is when Nina allows herself to give free rein to her artistic creativity.
Her paintings are in deep connection with nature, where she draws her inspiration, and the first thing that catches your attention about his work are the bright colors she uses, the direct mixture of them on the work, predominantly using the spatula. Each work is born from the connection between reality, the emotions and the mood of the artist, who lets herself be carried away by the need of the moment when painting.
Her greatest pride has been starting to paint, since she had been feeling the need to do so for a long time, and postponing it for different reasons, and sharing her work on social networks (instagram @nina.artpainting), which allows her to meet other artists, interact and share with them, to continue growing.
