Medium & Technique:
“Schlossing” – Water painting without water, created on a recycled laminated building sheet, strengthened and waterproofed for permanence.
This technique involves pouring, finger-painting, and using gravity to guide thick liquid poster paints. Layers are sun-baked for texture and contrast, then sealed with multiple coats of automotive clear acrylic lacquer to ensure longevity. The process results in a multi-layered vision — in this case, ten separate paintings transcending into one final expression.
“ME’RÉ SOPHISTIQUÉE avec FILS ENDORMI” (Sophisticated Mother with Sleeping Son) is my second-ever family portrait — a heartfelt depiction of my youngest daughter with our sleepy grandson during a quiet photoshoot by the beach. Painted delicately in soft, pale watercolours, the work captures a moment of tenderness and calm, reflecting the gentle rhythms of tropical life.
The use of muted tones is intentional — evoking the warmth of the tropics and the serenity of cool, air-conditioned spaces. The mother’s posture and expression convey both elegance and devotion, her refined composure blending naturally with the soft affection of motherhood. Her gentle embrace and peaceful gaze reveal a love both timeless and pure.
This portrait is a simple yet deeply personal tribute — a spontaneous moment captured from life, celebrating family, femininity, and love in its most natural form.
