Remembering Dave is a personal tribute to Dave Valentin, the celebrated jazz fusion flutist whose music has been a lasting source of inspiration to me. The composition translates the spirit of his music into abstract forms—rhythmic lines, contrasting shapes, layered textures, and subtle visual tensions that evoke the energy of improvisation. Rather than portraying the musician literally, the painting reflects the feeling of listening to his music: fluid, dynamic, expressive, and deeply soulful. The interplay of geometric structures and organic curves represents the dialogue between rhythm and melody, structure and spontaneity. Through this work, I remember not only a remarkable musician, but also the emotional resonance his music continues to create long after the final note.
