I built this tensegrity table to hold my phone next to my bed, making it a companion for my quietest hours. While painting the tabletop with acrylics, I wanted to imitate marble, but it naturally evolved into Kintsugi — the Japanese art of embracing broken ceramics with gold. This piece is intentionally imperfect. The wood carries small cracks, the lines are not mathematically straight, and the tension of the threads reflects a delicate, organic balance rather than factory precision. This table is a reflection of Wabi-Sabi philosophy: it shows that despite internal cracks, pressure, and flaws, we can still find our balance and float above the ground. My table has a secret: its tabletop flips over, and the other side has a different, calmer design. On the first side, I personally see a samurai with disheveled hair.
