Subbotin 23

Subbotin 23 is a Russian underground outsider artist. He left Moscow University after the first year — the academic approach felt alien to him. He works in visual art, music, and film as an actor. His practice is built on raw art and art brut. He rejects academic skill, believing it produces mimicry rather than true rawness. Today, when the world does not see Russia as a positive country, he continues to work and build bridges. He wants the world to know that Russia has real, raw underground art — and that it is ready to be shown.
