For this piece the connection to the sea and the heart-shaped landmass is similar to that of the soul to the body, highlighting the complementary nature of each. I choose to paint nature pieces because I believe that nature is and will always be a relief from the brain, a place where one could disconnect from the distractions of life and reconnect with oneself.
