Apperception, as the orientalist philosopher Henry Corbin defines it, is that state of transcendence in which reality transfigures and manifests itself not for what it appears but for what it is in its spiritual essence. It is the condition explored by mystics when, in their contemplations, they descended into the dark valleys of the psyche and evoked their fears so that they manifested themselves and became unshakable faith and no longer an obstacle to be feared. In this hallucinatory dimension restless figures advance that lead to wisdom and truth. As in Tibetan mysticism, the Dakinis, monstrous female divinities in which one's fears are reflected, ready to devour all the beliefs, opinions and ideas that limit the existence of every human being.
